DCF believes in sharing and not in helping: helping refers to a complementary relationship, where one depends on the other. The one who is helping is being seen as the expert who knows. We do not believe DCF knows better than the people who receive our services. Actually, the children and families are far more expert of their own situation than we are.
So we believe in sharing, accompanying and facilitating.
