In Belgium, DCF has a link with the NGO A.M.I.E., an organization supporting the poor, mostly children. A.M.I.E. consists of a group of men and women who prefer a concrete friendship to just talking about helping.
The NGO A.M.I.E.-Belgium was started on 17 January 1980 by Thérèse-Marie and A. Jean Flipot-de Fays. In Belgium, A.M.I.E. only operates with volunteers; they are involved because of idealism and out of love for the children. A.M.I.E. itself covers the costs for some inevitable expenses, which means all donations go entirely to the poor.
Furthermore, A.M.I.E. is willing to serve those who want to share their friendship, time or income with children in need. For example, A.M.I.E. has a link with DCF since September 2009, and added the Child ‘N Family center in Ecuador to its project list. Thanks to A.M.I.E. our Belgian friends and family, but also schools and companies, can now donate to DCF and receive proof of their gift for Belgian taxes.
