| The Story of Deepika Deepika is a teenage girl from the mid west of Nepal. She comes from a family with eight children who mostly live of farming. But with this main source of income, they can not feed the family the whole year round. That is why her father has to do labor work away from home about four months a year. Deepika’s hip was dislocated by an accident when she was twelve years old. After her final treatment at HRDC - a children’s hospital in Banepa - her one leg is shorter than the other, but she is able to walk without support most of the time. Back to Stories Nepal |
